PAYMENT & DELIVERY INFORMATION
1.1 Sales Order
All Sales Orders submitted to The Red Pencil through the Site are subject to our acceptance. Upon confirmation of the Sales Order, we will issue a Sales Order ID and provide you with a Sales Confirmation. The Agreement between you and The Red Pencil in respect of the Goods ordered will be deemed completed upon payment and delivery of the said Goods. Until such time, we reserve the right to reject your Sales Order without providing any reason. The Red Pencil shall be entitled to cancel or terminate the obligations to fulfill any Sales Order, for any reason whatsoever, with or without notice and we shall not be liable for any loss and damage to any party for such termination or cancellation. In such event, we will offer you a voucher for the value of your order. You will be able to use this voucher to buy any item(s) of merchandising or goods on The Red Pencil website.
Unless otherwise stated, all Prices quoted are inclusive of applicable goods and services tax.
Unless otherwise stated, all payments to be made through the Site shall be made using PAYPAL® or credit card payment (where you are the cardholder of that card) and shall be made in accordance with such procedures as we may from time to time specify.
Payments may be made by PAYPAL® Pte Ltd and through the use of internationally accepted credit cards which include VISA®, MASTERCARD®, and AMERICAN EXPRESS®.
The Red Pencil vouchers may be used for the purchase of any item(s) of merchandise of Goods on the Site. Use of The Red Pencil vouchers is subject to the following terms:
Valid for 12 months from date of issue. No replacements for lost or expired vouchers. Vouchers are not exchangeable for cash and unutilised amounts will not be refunded. Any other applicable terms and conditions stated on vouchers.
The winning buyer is responsible for submitting initial information within three days after the end of the auction. The Red Pencil should take reasonable steps to ensure that the seller will be able to communicate total cost and payment instructions within three business days. The buyer has five business days to issue payment in the form that is acceptable to the seller. Payment may typically be made via PayPal.
In the event that the buyer is unable to issue payment in the manner outlined above, it is the buyer’s obligation to negotiate a different arrangement for payment with the seller, at their discretion. The Red Pencil is not responsible for the seller’s decision at this point.
If the winning bidder defaults on making payments to the seller, they may be blocked from bidding, or their account may be suspended by The Red Pencil.
2. ERRORS ON OUR SITE
Prices and availability of Goods provided are subject to change without notice. Errors on the Site, which may include without limitation to errors in the Price and description of Goods, will be corrected when discovered, and The Red Pencil reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions including after a Sales Order has been submitted and whether or not the Sales Order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your Sales Order is cancelled, we will offer you a voucher for the value of your order. You will be able to use this voucher to buy any item(s) of merchandising or goods on The Red Pencil website.
Whilst The Red Pencil shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure the accuracy of such listings on the Site and to promptly correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, it shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the same. You acknowledge and agree that such errors may sometimes occur due to software default or otherwise and is not in any way intended to mislead or misrepresent to you in any way and as such, The Red Pencil shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage arising from such error.
- All orders are shipped from Singapore.
- You warrant that the address provided by you with your order shall be the delivery address for Goods and you shall hold harmless and indemnify The Red Pencil, its directors and employees, for any error, loss, expense and any other cost or fee in relation to any error in the provided delivery address.
- The delivery charge will be specified for each purchase.
- You will receive an email when your order is ready to be shipped.
- Orders are shipped using Singpost International or local Registered Mail, Smartpac, or DHL and we are also free to use another carrier whenever it suits us.
- Some items (larger items) will be delivered with a tailor-made shipping method.
3.1. Processing and shipping time
Processing & shipping time to Singapore: 1 to 5 working days
Processing & shipping time to other countries:
• You will be proposed a standard shipping and an express shipping.
• Shipping time will be computed at checkout based on the countries you want to be delivered.
Any dates quoted for delivery of the Products are indicative only. The Red Pencil will not be liable for any loss or expenses sustained by the User arising from any delay in the delivery of the Products howsoever caused.
3.2. Cost of delivery
- Cost of delivery will be computed at checkout based on the total weight of your order.
- We’ll use net weight or volumetric weight (L x l x W / 5000) whichever is higher to compute your shipping cost.

3.3. Postal & courier services:
The Red Pencil is not responsible for postal or courier service errors such as delays or lost items. However, if you can prove that your order did not arrive or arrived damaged at the premises, we will offer you a voucher for the value of your order*. You will be able to use this voucher to buy any item(s) of merchandising or goods on The Red Pencil website.
* In order for The Red Pencil to consider your claim you must notify them within 30 days
3.3.1. Paintings sent via DHL
In the event that delivery is not made possible due to the fact that there is nobody present at the relevant address at the time of delivery, a notice of attempted delivery shall be put into the letterbox and a second attempt of delivery will be made. If the second attempt at delivery fails, the addressee would be obliged to contact the courier to agree upon a pick up date and location. If the addressee fails to contact the courier service within 10 days after the first attempt of delivery by the courier service, the goods will be sent back to The Red Pencil. Upon receipt of the returned Products, The Red Pencil will then contact the addressee with regards to a possible reshipment at the addressee’s cost. If it is not possible to contact the addressee within a reasonable period of time, The Red Pencil will offer the addressee a voucher for the value of the order, and shall not be liable to the addressee with regards to any relevant future sales.
3.3.2. Paintings sent via Registered Article
What is the difference between normal and registered mail?
Unlike normal mail, registered article service offers proof of delivery and limited tracking features. For International Registered Article, we can check with the postal organisation of the item at its destination if the addressee confirms non–receipt or request for proof of delivery.
What happens if no one is at home to receive the registered article item?
For any unsuccessful delivery be it local or overseas, a delivery advice will be slipped underneath the door of the addressee’s address. For local items, you can collect the item from the designated post office, or redirect it to another post office of your convenience or reschedule for another delivery. For international items, the above-mentioned arrangement shall apply.
As collection timing may vary, it is advisable to check the timing before you go to the post office for collection.
The addressee shall bring along his/her NRIC or identification card, and delivery advice, as well as any other identification documents required by the relevant postal administration.
What happens if I forget to collect my registered article item?
If a local item which is not collected within 10 days, it will be returned to the sender. For international items, the retention period varies from post to post but the average duration ranges between 7 and 30 days.
3.3.3. Paintings sent via SmartPac
What is Smartpac?
SmartPac is a postage-paid postal service for delivery anywhere in Singapore, the next working day for a fixed price.
What happens if there is no one to receive at the Recipient’s address?
SmartPac will be delivered to the Recipient’s letterbox and the delivery note will be signed by the Postman.
What happens if the letterbox is too small and/or full?
Our Postman will issue a delivery advice into the Recipient’s letterbox. The Recipient can arrange for a re-delivery or collect the SmartPac at the Post Office indicated on the advice within ten (10) working days from the date of the first delivery advice.
What happens if the Recipient’s address and details are inaccurate?
The SmartPac will be returned to the Sender’s address, provided if the Sender’s address is clearly or accurately indicated on SmartPac delivery note.
4. CANCELLATIONS, EXCHANGES & RETURNS
4.1 Purchases of The Red Pencil Branded Goods
All sales of The Red Pencil branded goods shall be subject to the cancellation/refund, exchanges and return policies as set below.
The Red Pencil reserves the right to cancel any sale transaction on the Site and refund to you, the Price of any The Red Pencil Branded Goods purchased from the Site even after the relevant Sales Order is confirmed and payment has been received by us, in lieu of delivery or supply of The Red Pencil Branded Goods for any reason, including without limitation, unavailability of stock of The Red Pencil Branded Goods.
The Red Pencil will not accept Exchanges. As our paintings are unique, it is impossible to replace the goods.
The Red Pencil will not accept any return. However, if you can prove that your order arrived damaged at the premises, we will offer you a voucher for the value of your order*. You will be able to use this voucher to buy any item(s) of merchandising or goods on The Red Pencil website.
* In order for The Red Pencil to consider your claim you must notify them within 30 days
5. DUTIES AND TAXES
All parcels are subject to duties and taxes at destination and will be borne by consignee.
6. RISK OF LOSS
Title to the Goods shall only pass upon full payment of the Price. Risk of loss or damage to Goods purchased shall however pass to you upon delivery of the purchased Goods to you.
7. PRODUCT WARRANTY
With respect to The Red Pencil branded Goods, we make no warranties for our products sold online.
8. PRODUCT DISPLAY/COLOURS
The Red Pencil attempts to display product images of the Goods shown on the Site as accurately as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that the colour you see matches the product colour, as the display of the colour depends, in part, upon the monitor you are using. Where there are accessories or furnishings included in the product image, they are used purely for illustration purposes and will not be included in the sale of the Goods.
